Owls are such amazing creatures, and so fun to look at. It’s the big eyes, they are both terrifying and adorable. But I guess the Saw Whet Owl is more adorable than terrifying.

Breeze

Somehow, I didn’t post these! I have been practicing equine portraits with different media. These are both Breeze, from reference pictures taken seconds apart. The profile on the far right I did first, with ink pencils, the 3/4 profile in the middle right I did with watercolors supplemented with brush pens. I think the second one is better, personally. The lights and darks are better.

I realized I never shared these. I spent some time playing with ink, even participated in about half of inktober. It’s been really fun to learn a bit more about handling markers.
